I don't know about you guys, but I'm exited as shit about this game.
Its a game thats been in development for a few years now.
The overall plan of the game is to have a 1:1 scale galaxy consisting of over 200 billion stars (imagine how many planets) for players to explore. The high points of the game so far are SEAMLESS space-atmosphere transitions along with to scale planets and a full assortment of celestial bodies.
The part about everything being a 1:1 scale is pretty literal. If you fly towards a planet, you'll drop through the atmosphere and hit the surface seamlessly, with no load times. And the planet will be the size of an actual planet.
The game is planned to have a MMO, single player, and LAN version with a full game editor in which you can create your own game in its own galaxy. They were aiming at having a game like X3/EVE with twitch combat and newtonian physics.
They recently announced that they were going to work on releasing an SDK first. And from the looks of it, some really cool shit could be made from this engine.
