2 sticks is faster than 1 due to the glory of interleaving. Never have just 1 stick of ram. Also, if you're on a 32-bit OS only about 3 1/2 of those gigs will be usable because 32-bit windows is bad.
fixed
No.
Windows is bad because the 32bit problem is windows only. Unix based systems are designed in such as way that in a 32bit operating system each process is limited to the 4GB spectrum (which is unavoidable, the "bit" number is the count f how many bits make up a pointer, so a 32-bit pointer can only address a maximum of 2^32 bytes), not the entire system as in the case of windows. Our 32bit Linux servers have 8GB of usable ram.
Ergo: Windows is bad.
Proving the point that 32bit windows is bad?
No, proving that the problem is at the fault of Windows, not 32bit. Windows is bad.
If you'd like to start a flame war I'm more than willing. I'll post later more reasons that windows is bad, as this is simply one of many. The only redeeming qualities of windows are in fact byproducts of the work of other companies, and are not to be used as praise for windows (namely, program and hardware compatibility).
I'm not in it for a flame-war, you got all butt-hurt because I didn't agree with one of your opinions and made a joke fix'd post. I seem to remember a time when jokes were common around here. You hate windows, good for you.

I can't believe your seriously willing to go all-out for a dumbshit argument which, when over, will mean nothing. I'm not just going to break down and go "Wow Chris, you're right, windows blows black cock." How dare someone have a difference in opinion, this is almost as bad as a religious debate.

I know its a problem of windows, but at the moment it only shows to be a problem in 32bit windows. Never said it was a strictly 32bit problem. Even though each process is still limited to 4gb, you can kick on PAE and be able to utilize more of your ram. If there weren't a lot of shitty drivers for windows devices they would have it on by default.
Windows has its problems, but its a great operating system. (except for vista and me)
