Fallout 3
« on: March 25, 2009, 12:51:26 pm »
I know the trend has all but passed... But I've been playing the heck out of some Fallout lately. I'm also working on some mods with a friend which may or may not ever actually work, but time killed is time enjoyed I guess. lol.

I still play it on occasion, but I have already done most of what the game has to offer, and therefore my attention is no longer held as tightly as before. However, it is a very good game; I approve.

It is indeed an extremely good game. I played that game hand-on-hand using the giant claw that ignores enemy defence. It was very effective. I never actually completed that game, I got distracted by Dwarf Fortress... I gotta make that thread now, it's the best game ever. But yes, seriously, Fallout 3 is fucking good, and I need to play it again as I only got about 30 hours out of it before DF pulled me away...

Yeah, I've heard that before... Dwarf Fortress ripped me away from it before I got a chance to explore those.

There is so much win in that, I can't even handle it.

I do agree that it is a very awesome game. But it seems like you can only do so much before you feel like you're just lather, rinse, repeat throughout the rest of the game, despite the change in environments. Am I the only one who feels this way?

I would agree, but it just so happens to be an extremely fun lather, rinse, and repeat cycle.

Well, I would agree with that statement, but I think that after a certain point nothing on the game feels like a challenge anymore.

Just like in Oblivion, with the Shivering Isles expansion, I punched the Gatekeeper to death. You reach a point of diminishing returns once your level gets so high.

See, my problem with Oblivion is that the whole time I was playing I just kept thinking to myself "Wow, this isn't nearly as good as Morrowind"...

Well, I never played Morrowind, so I never had that feeling while playing Oblivion.
