GRUB fails to load with Karmic Koala on the second drive. Chris, what linux install do you have on your second HD? Hardy Heron?

9.10, what goes wrong? Grub is probably configured wrong. It's all your fault. Your parents didn't love you enough.

I'd put it on hard drive 2. Then I tried RAID. Then I decided I'd bite the bullet and put both on a single HD. Now it works.

You can do 2 drives fine, just install windows on one drive, and then install Linux on the other. The computer will automatically boot into the Linux bootloader, Grub, which will have an option to boot into windows instead of Linux. You can change which one is booted into by default in the Grub configuration file...
