Burnout
« on: March 25, 2009, 08:40:43 am »
I've been playing some Burnout Paradise lately, which is not a very good game. Racing games are fun to play sometimes, and I've always thought the Burnout series did a good job. None of the Burnout games are nearly as awesome as Burnout 3 though, holy crap that game was fun. Easily the best car game ever made. I'm interested to see smitty's opinion on the matter, as bros usually appreciate car games more than we nerds.

Some of my favorite racing games were the Rush series on the N64. Sure, they weren't realistic, but there was so much cool shit you could find and unlock, and the stunt modes were amazing.

I can't say I've ever played that series. I'll have to find it at the local oldschool game store and play it with my neighbour, as I'm sure he would appreciate it also...

Nintendo 64 emulators FTW! However, playing without the original controller does take away from the overall feel of the game.

So I think what you meant was "Nintendo 64 emulators FTL!"... Real systems are always better, though Gameboy systems are usually preferred in emulator form... I am very pro-emulator, but if you have the system for the love of god use that.

This.

I actually kinda enjoyed nascar 98 for the good ol N64. I never really raced, I just kinda spun around in the middle of the track and collided head on with other cars. Twas fun.

I did the EXACT same thing back in elementary school, possibly with the same game, almost every day at my friend Ryan's house...

Exactly. I am the ONLY Ryan. All others Ryans are simply clones of my awesomeness, and have a life span of 7 to 10 months, after which they expire. So yes, it was me that was your friend in New Hampshire, and regrettably at the time I did not tell you to get the hell out of my house.

I play more emulators that any man should. Reason being, I have a three hour break in between my classes. I end up playing the hell out of my n64 games. Working through Legend of Zelda OOT right now.

I may throw up an emulator megathread later on so I can bestow the knowledges on everyone.
