STA config do's and don'ts.
« on: August 27, 2009, 01:46:39 am »
Okay, this is for Weegee and all future in-game admins.
I noticed that a few methods of setting up a config causes the admin menu to disappear (even with whatever fix Chris made for that plug-in), which would mean we can't reset the server after a match and would have to ask a server-admin.

Methods known not to work + its solution:
A. Setting a config and then changing the map.
Change the map to whatever the match is on first and then set the config.

B. Setting a config and then directly changing it to a different config.
If you choose the wrong config and need to change it, set the server to Maggotry mode first and then choose the correct config.

*On a side note*: When a match is over, even after setting the server back to Maggotry mode, you must change the map for it to function properly...
ie. Carts on payload maps don't move, points can't be captured, and Waiting for players/Set-up times freeze once it drops down to zero.

I don't mean to complain, but could the admins also reset the server right after a match instead of a few hours later?

or does it just take some time?
I think I can make it.

I know it's supposed to be reset right after.
I just didn't get the chance to analyze all these problems until earlier this morning.
Until now I've been losing my admin menu and couldn't reset the server myself right away and the server-admins have been afk or just don't respond right away a bit more than usual lately.
But all should be fine now.

And no, it only takes like, a minute for the server to be reset and come back up.

I'll work on getting those issues with the config resolved... It took me a while to even make it so you /could/ get it back to maggotry mode :P...
