What mouse sensitivity do you use?
« on: August 20, 2009, 03:03:43 am »
I personally use something around 9 or 10 for all classes.

I have, however, heard that some people use different sensitivities for different classes. Nezi once told me that he uses sensitivity 14, for example, for everything.

So...does it matter on the person, the class, or does it even matter at all?

discuss.
I think I can make it.

It's also dependant on windows sensitivity... My mouse sensitivity in windows is wicked high, so my TF2 sensitivity is 5 or 6 i think...

Also depends on the DPI of your mouse.

then at least tell me how much you move your mouse to do a 360 degree turn.

I move mine about 7 cm.

yes, I use the metric system because it is completely superior to the obscure values of the imperial system. 5280 ft in a mile? cmon....really? Also farenheit...I'd rather know the temperature relative to water, to know if I will have ice outside or not.
I think I can make it.

Dem's fightin wurds.

I use about 1200 dpi and then have the sensitivity in tf2 itself set on the lower side (I think)

I love my g5 gaming mouse, changing sensitivity on the fly can really help.

Im pretty sure most of them use medium-low sensitivity. I keep mine around there. I have it so I can comfortably do a 180. Mine is at 1800 DPI and 3.0 sensitivity in game.

No, it's not wireless. I've never had a wireless keyboard/mouse in my life because I'd be too lazy to charge/change batteries.

I've seen wireless mice(?) that work well...myu problem is that my cord isn't long enough, I might switch sometime.
I think I can make it.

don't. Just get a better wired mouse. I recommend the G9, as it is amazing.

It's made for CS:S but the principles can be applied to any game.  If you don't feel like reading it, this is the tl;dr version:  Your mouse knows what it's doing better than your computer does.  Set all your mouse sensitivities to default so they don't influence the input, and turn mouse acceleration off for consistent aiming.  If you want higher sensitivity, get a better mouse, preferably a Logitech MX518.

Currently using 3200 dpi, 6/11 Windows, and 2.4 in game.

Also, everyone should have this in their launch options:
-noforcemparms -noforcemaccel -noforcemspd

Gets rid of any and all acceleration, even if your OS has it turned on.

I'll call myself a conspiracy theorist if you call yourself a coincidence theorist.

It seems that I use a relatively high TF2 mouse sensitivity to compensate for my default low mous sensitivity. I like it this way.
I think I can make it.

Low default mouse sensitivity means that it ignores some of your mouse's inputs, meaning that you will get irregular motion.  And high ingame mouse sensitivity means that it will multiply some of those inputs, which causes more irregularity.

Seconded. I love this fucking mouse.

I use 1200dpi and I have my tf2 sensitivity set to 6.5-7ish. I hate having to move my hand all over the place to play.

Is DPI just your basic natural, inherient (big words over 2 syllables make me spell bad) mouse sensitivity?
