While waiting for players we need to return the friendly fire (NOT durring the setup time).

After the round is over we need to disable ranking, make the humiliation time longer, and make the losing team respawn. I have played a server with this mod and it was SOOO fun.

Also, maybe we could have friendly fire rounds (no rankings) triggered by admins?

We need a little bit more wierd shit on the server, we are, after all, SHENANIGAN's house of maggotry. There is too little SHENANIGANS.

Thats why I also mentioned in my other topic that we should have melee only restrictions (again, triggered either by vote or by admin), and have some fun nights.

You know, I can agree to this to some extent. SHENS used to pride ourselves on having really good players on the server, but then they all left and stopped playing here because the server never worked and Drake wasn't there anymore. We've lost our cred as a good server due to the lack of Drake, Smitty, thebladeofwar, and any of the other frustratingly good players who used to regular. (We miss them all :'()...

Now-a-days, the most fun on the shens server is late at night when we're all fucking around and doing whatever the fuck we want because it's funny. We need more user instigated fun things, otherwise we're just a poorly populated server with crits turned off.

There are maps made for melee only, and pre-existing melee only scripts. Those would make for a fun time, assuming we have more admins with the ability to implement them, as well as change the map. Although, extending the humiliation round, while fun for the winning team, isn't something we need to do. I've played on servers with it on before, and in all honesty, it gets a little old. There are plenty of other communities out there (Ubercharged, for example.) who have become successful without silly addons.

I think our only issue at the moment is a lack of community. Like Chris said, we're without most of our more likable, as well as more skillfull members. Thats what we need more than anything right now, because the server has been reaching well over critical fail lately, WHILE populated.

I agree with all 3 things.
I've been trying to figure out what to do about the current access and stuff, I would love some minor admins (LoPi and Weegee have a lot of access, there are many inbetweens i can give out)... Basic rights like mapvotes, mute, kick (not ban)... That's about it...

as long as only 3 or 4 people get pall, no admin can be abused.

Also, maybe we should change the server main name to something shorter. I know this from experience; if you see a long name, you get intimidated, and it seems that the server has too many mods. I would change the name to:

Shenanigan's house of maggotry: music and no mods

Well, in terms of shenanigans, having one or two more key people with access with melee only scripts/mapchange is all we'd really need. Although, they'd have to be people who are on the server a bit more often then our current admins, as to entertain the pubbers normally on the server while Weegee and Lopi are not.

Well, thats why both Weegee and Lopi were made admins, and sofar, they've been on as much as needed, considering our regular server population. As a matter of fact, its normally Lopi who's responsible for filling the server up during the day in the first place. After that's done, there's not much of a reason for them to stick around. Regular players can choose what maps they want and have a good time on their own. Any shenanigans they have are up to them, and don't necessarily require an admin. Me and Jeed being on the server after that from 4ish until 11 or 12 at night is normally enough to keep players entertained, and we're just regular members. Not admins.

So, like I said. Its simply a matter of getting back the community we had before. Thats what will improve SHENS more than anything atm.

but we still need some kind of "fun" triggers (melee only, ets) so that no asswhores can come and grief the server.

It takes one asshole using non melee only to kill a fun melee only fight.

Nah if it's only one then you can all gang up on him and kill him the second he respawns. Repeat until rage quit. But you're right though, it would make life a lot easier if you could just force everyone to do it.

Shit would there be a way to force only taunt kills? That's always fun too.

taunts only only work with a few people on the server.

I once managed to convinve a server of 10ish people to do taunts only, but it broke up after half a round, due to some scout (you cant kill scouts with melee, since they run) who kepts using bullets.

And also, the problem is that once someone starts not melee onlying, everyone will se bullets to kill them and end up killing other people by accident, ruining the fun.

maybe instead of w+m1 knife we can force knife only fights.

Still, I am against the idea because it is too limiting. This won't work for the same reason taunts only will not. It's just way too specific on what you can do. With melee only, anything goes.

Also, could we maybe have a mod that lets you wield other weapons but only attack with melee? This way we can taunt kill if the taunt does not require a melee weapon (eg. sniper huntsman taunt)
