Played Predator a few times.  He's okay, but I feel useless alone.  Night Hound looks intriguing.

Night Hound is next to impossible to play, but he's so insanely holy shit good late game if you can keep up till then.

How is he good late game?  r4 backstab and r4 pounce hurts a lot, but you can't do anything if they're looking, which they will be approximately one second after you pounce them.  And even when they're not looking, stunlock is only a key away.  Repeat attacks are absolutely out of the question if you want to not get stunlocked, too.  His pursuit is okay if you've got boots because pounce is only 5s cooldown, but again they can just stun you after pounce and make up enough ground to get you out of range.  He's not really that good except for pounce's spike damage, which isn't nearly as much as the spike of other classes that have ultras.

The autocloak is neat but it's absolutely not an ultra.  Invisicreeping is about the only thing it's good for because plenty of classes have debuffs that reveal.

And even if you avoid direct confrontation and just annoy them with random pounce-and-runs like I tried to, you're still easy to stun on reflex and your spike is not nearly enough to do anything except wear them down slowly at early game.  Also, your smoke bomb is utterly worthless unless you're pushing a group of creeps, which pretty much any hero can do with a skill that actually causes damage.  The radius is too small and the slow is not enough.  Stopping to smokebomb and run will get you stunlocked and killed.

Sounds like someone doesn't know how to play Night Hound...

So, here's how to gank with Night Hound (I've done it dozens of times and been like, 5 levels above all my team mates with this class before)... Get point blank to them, drop a smoke bomb and them immediately start thrashing on their backs. They'll walk out of the bomb, which is why having an item with stun is a must, if you don't it's not a big deal. By the time they get out the cloud they should be at ~1/2 health, that or you bought all the wrong items. At this point immediately pounce them. If they try to fight back run through your cloud and recloak, when they start to run hit from behind a few more times, by this point a melee to melee battle you WILL win.... If they run away, just chase em down and smash em, using pounce to catch up.

This is all only possible late game when you have the damage buff equipment (get AS MUCH agi equipment as possible, along with some life leach, and movement speed.... the AGI will give you armor for damage reduction) required to get your gank on. Ganking with a stun class helping you makes you possibly one of the best gankers in the game, due to the inevitable utter thrashing that happens inside of the cloud of the smoke bomb. I played him for a few days, Maguile has seen me do both really well and really poorly with him before.

I still stand on my previous statement, this hero could very well have the highest skill ceiling of any other in the game.

Maybe after a play a few more weeks with him I'll write up a tutorial on what equipment and stuff to get. Duck boots are awesome for early game. Get backstab first.

I like scout, swiftblade, thunderbringer, valkyrie, and a few others. This game has consumed an inordinate amount of my time since I got a key a few days ago. IS GOOD TIMES!

Thunderbringer/Swiftblade
Welcome to the forums!! We're filled with a lot of win!
I can't say I'm certain who you are though, be you a goer of the TF2 server, or are you friends with one of the shens guys? Nevertheless, thunderbringer's ulti is wicked annoying for finishing people off as they run away. It is frustrating.

I used to frequent TF2 a lot. I'm RL friends with Bob, cheese, gasm, and the rest of the TN gang. Cheese and I kinda jump started the heroes thing and it spread like fire when we all first played it lol. I just never got on the forums but i've been around.

Ah, ok... A friend of the godfathers of shens :P...

I got my key from Slashdot a while ago, so I sort of jump started the HoN thing for the non-TN shensers... I thought it was weird how both the TN people and the active SHENS people all started playing this game around the same time...

Anyway, what's your in game HoN name? Imma add you to my friends list later today... It's way more fun to play with people you know (or kind of know)

Slither is awesome early game, especially against scout or Night Hound or any of the other really really weak AGI heroes... He's bad against elect, because elect can just remove the poison with his ulti (which he can use every 15 seconds)...

I played elect last night with K1llgasm and some other guy, it was my first time soloing a lane. I managed to over level myself a lot, I held off the magmus most of the early game, and then ended up taking on all 3 of them at once a few times on my own... By the end of the game I had 50% damage reduction and 1900 HP... I was ganking the shit out of them, and they couldn't do enough damage to get me below 1/2 HP most of the time... I love this class...
