Cons:
Workers no longer so "Homis", "Aliba", or "Oklahoma" when you click them, which was a key feature of other AoE games for me...

Hey, AoE are awesome games. Well, awesome in the RTS aspect where it's not actually a good game but can be fun to dick around in. Like building tons of towers in your team mates base and then breaking the alliance so that they die in like, 0.1 seconds. That and building massive walled fortresses and make your way across the map..... tower offence is awesome :P

I got started playing that game when the very first one came out. AOE II was probably the first real multiplayer game I played online that wasn't browser based. Good times.... There were some great user made maps out there that I still remember such as Archer's Blood. To actually play online you had to join this MSN gaming zone where you would join other lobbies in a browser. Then when the host launched the game, it would launch AOE. It was strange, but that was all I knew at the time  :D.

And then came Gamespy Arcade, which wasn't much better... I'm very happy the intartubez are past that point in online gaming... BNet was a huge leap away from that bullshit...

Having not played AoE III, I would have to agree.

the experience is different, 3 is or was more competitive and less >jump-right-in-ish> you have to get good before online play feels good.
