Medic's Scrapped Unlockable: The Overhealer

I was very surprised to find out about the Overhealer this morning.
Instead of a temporary buff to 150% of your health, your health would be increased to 200%.
Keep in mind that it wouldn't slowly decrease, either...
And in return? Well, no ubers for you, of course.
Well, Valve was actually deciding on having the meter fill up incredibly slow or not at all.
I'm pretty sure it would've been the latter anyways, but that's beside the point.

I have to admit, it sounds neat at first. 600 health Heavies to pocket heal, mmm!
But after awhile it started to feel really wrong. Especially with the way I personally play Medic.
So that's why I want to see what everyone else thinks.

My thoughts on it? ...I honestly think it's going to sound whiney.
But it'd be harder to stay alive for your patient.
I try not to waste an uber if it's just me low on health, but when that's the case, it's usually because there's a big group around, so I uber at the last possible second to allow myself and my patient to regain most, if not all, our health back while mopping the floor with invincibility.
It's that very reason that makes me turn away from the Kritz.

Another thought was not being able to run in front of a sentry gun's fire for my patient like I would with an uber.
Yeah, the 200% health would give you a lot of time to stand in front of its sight, but will you be able to stay close enough and take the sentry gun down with its strong knockback against you?
This concerns me the most with Soldier's constant reloading. D:
Probably doable with a Heavy, though.
But I might just be underestimating all that since I don't have a whole lot of experience with combat classes yet.

It seems like the medic would end up staying in one place topping everyone off if he had that since the overheal wouldn't degrade   :-\

It would be so OP... Imagine an entire team of 12 or so, all overhealed... The "pocket medic" role would be lost with this and, ironically, although the entire team would be juggernaut the medic's score would plumit because medics get all their points via pocket medicing... I think it would be OP, and even if it wasn't, it would be boring to play as that medic...

Damn I seriously wish they put this in game, imagine a scout rush with 11 sandman FaN scouts and one overhealer medic to buff them all to 250 hp. That would be so epic!

I think the Kritzkreig is much more interesting and fun, honestly. 600 HP Heavies would be fun but they're still fairly easy to trivialize.

it looks like a machine designed to vacuum your hands, feet, or balls.

Also, the ubercharge of the medic is just indespensible, since it gives the medic something to look forward to, and progress the game.

also, healing people to twice their health might not do nanything anyways, since the majority of deaths of people who are being healed are either from backstabs or from headshots; both of which are instant kills.

I would not use it.

That's not entirely true. A heavy with 600 health would survive a fully charged headshot, but I think he'd be the only one.

Heavies are also the easiest class to backstab...

They move sooo slowly they are just asking for it
