You actually can remove IE... if you open the control panel, go to add/remove programs, then add/remove windows components, then uncheck IE and click apply, IE will go away... TADA! No more tumors!

Yeah, that's really annoying... I wish steam would man up and just require people to install FF, or just use the FF rendering engine or something... It's open source anyway! They can legally distribute it!

Actually IE isn't as simple to uninstall as you would think. It is best to just leave it alone as it is used to render the pages for sounds and what not. In Windows 7 though, there will be an option to completely turn off IE.

Yes, but your overall computer morale is increased do to IE no longer being there. Windows does indeed hate not having it's lovely IE to render html and execute arbitrary code from the tubes.
