Resident Evil Series
« on: March 23, 2009, 06:50:29 pm »
I am sure we have all played on of the installments in this long running series but nothing will top the original for the ps1. The worst voice acting in the universe coupled with some poorly translated dialogue and a camera forged in the depths of hell it was so bad it was good. The dialogue of Mr. Barry Burton is remembered to this day for his famous Jill Sandwich line, as well as some not so famous others. But my favorite is the opening to Jill's storyline with Wesker when He says "Don't open that door" not funny on it is own but the way he says it and the way his character moves it makes my day to see it.

So what was your favorite Resident Evil game.

Probably Nemesis. That bastard never stopped hunting you. (Sure, it was pre-scripted, but for it's time that was pretty terrifying).

Plus that one really had a nice variety in its environments, and the atmosphere was always very eerie.

Yeah it was good but eh, wasn't like the others. I like it but it doesn't feel like Resident Evil.

The only RS game I played was 4. I enjoyed it very much. I hope they port 5 to the PC, but this time with mouse controls.

I still play my 360 as well, and I intend on getting RE5 for it eventually. But over the past 3 years of owning the 360, I have had to send mine in a total of 4 times, with the first three being a different system each time. I just got my Elite back a few days ago.

I played the RE1 gamecube remake and though it was pretty good. I couldn't figure out most of the puzzles though so I rarely made it very far. I got about half way through playing it in the car on the way to florida one year though.

I have beaten RE4 though. That is a beast of a game. It fixed the thing that pissed me off the most about the first game. The fact that you had a highly trained special force operative who couldn't reliably brain a zombie that was practically standing still from 10' away.

I recently got the Wii version of RE4, its great. I've beaten it on normal and pro, also done a handgun only run and a speedrun of 2:14. The RE5 demo is pretty fun too. All the other RE games look like complete cock suckers tbh.

The other games have really good stories behind them. Even though they are filled with twists and turns. They aren't that bad Weegee. You have to give them a chance.

Its not that I wont like the stories or anything, but just the idea of a single fixed camera angle added to not being able to aim where you want really sounds awful.

You may not like it because of what your use to know a days but back then it was something else. I still like that style because it gave you little control and made it survival horror.

Yeah, the only thing scary about those games are the controls.

RE5 is pretty fun, especially if you enjoyed RE4. But there's a single catch; You HAVE to have someone playing with you. Its meant to be a coop game, and your partner's AI in single player makes it much more aggravating than fun.

Did you remember to feed your gigapet as well? Pokemon...seriously? I'm not that old but... get off my lawn
