 I prefer playing fighting games locally on consoles and I know that Maguile and bladeofwar absolutely despise this game so there's no point to me going anywhere near it.

Have you only played fighting games against idiots or the computer?
If you play against someone who knows how to hold a controller and has a basic understanding of fighting games then they probably won't lose to button mashing.

I just derive no fun from these games, and therefore am offering my cynical opinion on them. Stories are usually shit, there are typically too many spammable moves, and there really isn't any sense of satisfaction from beating these games unless you're a Weeaboo. /rant (I miss Mortal Kombat)
